The Gospel Coalition

The Henry Center provided key startup financial support to The Gospel Coalition (TGC), a fellowship of evangelical churches deeply committed to renewing their faith in the gospel of Christ and to reforming ministry practices to conform fully to the Scriptures. Their foundation documents include a confessional statement originally written by D.A. Carson and a theological vision for ministry written by Tim Keller. These documents were reworked into their final form by the council members over a period of two years.

TGC is committed to invigorating churches through a unified effort zealous to honor Christ through an integrative, biblically based gospel that is both winsome in interacting with the culture and theologically substantial in the message, preaching, evangelism, apologetics and growth. The message must be both ancient in truth and contemporary in clearly communicating the gospel our age. The initial coalition of about forty churches and ministries invites the body of Christ to join in renewal across denominational, social and ethnic backgrounds toward a common gospel-centered vision rooted in Scriptures.

The Ministry is relevant for all people and integrates faith and work, justice and mercy, in radical Christian community. You are invited to visit the site.
